Excerpts from fall 1995, and spring 1996 evaluation of Math 1483 by Adrienne Hyle

Students taking the course were from the Collges of Arts and Sciences, Agriculture, and Education. Most expected passing grades and appreciated the course content and delivery. Each semester students' attitudes about math, although not always positive, became more positive, and virtually all students saw math as meaningful and useful in their lives and in their majors.

Overall, the course was a success:

Students believed their grades reflected what they learned in the course

Students attitudes about math changed, positively

Students felt that they had the math and problem solving skills needed to complete their major

Students felt they learned how math fits into real life

Students reported that the best things about the course were the instructors and success in math, finally!
