Fall 2011 High School Math Contest

The sixth of the new series of contests was held on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at the Wes Watkins Center on the Stillwater campus of OSU.  Approximately 260 students participated from the following schools in Oklahoma and Texas:  Adair, Arkoma, Braggs, Bridge Creek, Chouteau, Colcord, Crescent, Dover, Dustin, Fort Gibson, Foyil, Haileyville, Haskell, Keys, Oakridge, OSSM - Muskogee, OSSM - Oklahoma City, OSSM - Tahlequah, Santa Fe South, St. Mark's, Tahlequah, Union, and Western Heights.

The contest is held annually in the fall. The contest is in two parts. The first part is approximately 25 multiple choice questions. The second part contains about five more difficult problems involving ideas about geometry, counting, etc.  This year, the second part was a team round:  students worked on the problems in groups of four, and submitted jointly written solutions.
 

 

Note: We are still taking applications for scholarships if you choose to join OSU in Fall 2012. If you are a senior who participated in the 2011 contest then mail or fax us a completed scholarship application form. The form may be found here. (Posted on October 10, 2011.)

When to Enroll: No later than September 23, 2011.
When to take the Contest: 1:00pm –– 4:00pm on October 4, 2011
