Established in 1985 to serve undergraduate mathematics students, the Mathematics Learning Resource Center remains one of the nation's most prominent mathematics tutoring centers. The facility strives to meet all the extra-classroom needs of undergraduate mathematics students.
The Mathematics Learning Resource Center is located on the 4th floor of the Classroom Building just north of the Student Union. Students needing tutoring assistance must check in at the Information Window, 420 CLB.

As the MLRC tutoring staff, we are directly involved in maintaining and improving the quality of the MLRC. Our priority is to provide efficient tutoring in a positive and friendly manner to best meet the needs of the students, we strive to make the MLRC the best possible learning environment.
The MLRC currently tutors all the undergraduate math classes through Differential Equations and Linear Algebra. The tutoring is done on a drop-in basis during the hours listed above.
It is often the case that instructors put class-related material on reserve at the MLRC. Your instructor should advise you if materials are available. An OSU student ID is required to check out any of the files and the files may not leave the MLRC.
Some instructors may hold office hours at the MLRC. If you need assistance in finding a room in which office hours are being held, please ask the person in 420 CLB for this information. If you wish to make arrangements to reserve a room for private study or office hours at the MLRC, please contact an MLRC coordinator at mlrccoords at math.okstate, edu .
Students enrolled in 1513 (College Algebra) in the fall and spring semesters can earn participation points at the MLRC. To receive points a student must register in 420 CLB. The staff person will log the student in and will return the ID when the student comes to check out and leave. See the syllabus for your section for details about participation points. The student must be working on math related materials while earning participation points at the MLRC. There are no participation points during summer class sessions.
Participation points under a different scheme are available for Math 1715 Fall 2008. See the course syllabus.
The MLRC shares with IT a 28-station computer lab location, 420 CLB. This lab offers a wide range of mathematical program including Maple TA and Matlab.
The computers are available to OSU students, and there is not a check in procedure to use them. Students can simply come to use the computers and do not have to be enrolled in a math course. Please be respective of currently reserved sessions in the lab. Postings are on the outside of the door.
The MLRC has an extensive DVD library. The DVD’s cover topics including arithmetic, algebra, trigonometry, business calculus, calculus I and calculus II. Students interested in checking out DVD’s may do so in 420 CLB with the staff person.
To further assist students with their mathematics courses, the Mathematics Department offers a calculator checkout program where students can check out a calculator on loan throughout the entire semester. If you wish to obtain additional information about this program, simply call 405-744-5688 or stop by 401 MSCS Mathematics Department to speak with a staff person. Calculators available in this program include the TI-82, TI-83, TI-83+, TI-85, TI-86 and the TI-89. A portion of these calculators have been donated to this program by the Student Government Association.
Private Tutoring
The MLRC publishes a list of people who are available by appointment for private tutoring. Lists are obtainable in 401 MSCS (the Mathematics Department) or at the MLRC in room 420 CLB.
The Mathematics Department employs students to tutor students, recommend resources, and answering computer questions related to math. The hours are flexible (anywhere from 10-12 hours/week), Monday through Friday. The minimum requirement for application is a grade of B or better in Calculus II; be familiar with all math courses ranging from Algebra to Calculus, have knowledge of computer software program such as Maple TA; possess a great attitude and be a team player; have the ability and patience to work in a diverse environment. If you are interested in applying for this rewarding position, applications for the Fall 2010 semester will be accepted up to the end of June, 2010 in 401 MSCS. Applications are available in 401 MSCS or at the MLRC in 420 CLB. Please submit application with official transcript for consideration.
Any comments and suggestions that you may have concerning the MLRC are appreciated. Pay us a visit. The MLRC maintains an active visitation program for students and faculty. We can arrange tours for high school and college faculty and their classes. For college faculty there are limited funds available to pay expenses. We hope to extend this service to high school faculty in the near future.
