How Do I Change my Password?

The basic Unix command to change your password is passwd. On some Unix systems you'll then be asked to type your current Unix password, followed by what you'd like your new password to be. On others you'll be asked what you'd like to change your password to. You'll need to type this new password in twice.

If pine starts up automatically when you log in to hardy.math.okstate.edu you'll need to change your password on that machine from inside pine like this:

• Select Setup from the pine Main Menu screen
• From the Setup screen enter n to select New Password
• Enter a new password when prompted
