How Do I Get New Software Installed?

If there is software that you'd like to see installed on either the PC in the terminal room (MS421) or on a departmental server ask the system administrator(s) if they can install it.

Here are some of the things that will affect whether or not a particular piece of software is installed:

• Is this something that the majority of the users in the department will use?
• Is this something the department will have to purchase outright or buy a license for from CIS?
• Does the software come ready to install or will the admin(s) have to build it?
• What kind of resource demand will this software put on the system?

If there is a particular piece of software that you'd like to have installed on the PC in your office let the system adminstrator(s) know. If the software is availble and there is sufficient disk space on your PC it'll be installed.
