Declaring as a Math Major

You are allowed to declare your major as early as the second semester of your freshman year. Here is the procedure you need to follow:

1. Go to the Arts and Sciences Student Services Office in LSE 202, and fill out the form for declaring a major (or a second major).
2. The A&S Student Services Office will give you a copy of your grade report and an adviser assignment card, to bring with you to the Math Department.
3. Take these forms to the Undergraduate Assistant in MS 401. You will be assigned to an adviser, either by choosing from a small group of ``open advisers'' or by making a specific request. (Please note: some faculty may not be available to take new students.)
