A good many math majors have chosen mathematics to prepare themselves for law school, medical school, and business school. Several alumnae of the OSU Mathematics Department have gone on to become successful attorneys, medical doctors, and business people. Certainly, studying mathematics in a pre-professional mode is not only a satisfactory means of completing an undergraduate degree, but also a way to develop the thinking skills necessary to succeed in law school, medical school, business school, and beyond.
The College of Arts and Sciences assists students interested in applying to law school and medical schools by providing a Pre-law Adviser and a Pre-med Adviser, both located in 202 Life Sciences East. These advisers, along with your undergraduate adviser in the Department of Mathematics, can help you choose a curriculum that is appropriate to your needs and interests. For a Pre-business option, consult with the staff of the College of Business Administration's Student Services Office.
