You should look through the Student Actuary Magazine in the Fall, as they have advertisements and even articles describing Actuarial Summer Internship programs with such companies as American Fidelity Assurance Company, Aetna Life & Casualty, Farm Bureau Life Insurance, Hartford Insurance Group, Metropolitan Life Insurance, and Transamerica Occidental Life.
Often, no specific actuarial training is required other than excellent mathematical skills through calculus. There may also be extensive use of computers, both in running software written by others and in designing new software for new applications.
