Möbius maps applied to circles

In this note, we shall describe why Möbius transformations map circles or straight lines to circles or straight lines. The point $\infty$, usually represented as the North Pole on a sphere by means of stereographic projection, causes a lot of problems algebraically, and here we shall try to avoid those problems by unifying the concept of circle and straight line.
